A force both on stage and in life, Deidre Rose’s journey has been anything but ordinary.
From her cowboy-filled childhood in rural California to kitesurfing along Brazil’s stunning coastlines, organizing conferences for world leaders, and graduating from the prestigious London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA), her life has been a tapestry of adventures.
Deidre's versatility as an actor embodies her fearless spirit—whether she's singing to hundreds, graduating at the top of her class in mathematics, hiking Bali's highest volcanoes under the stars, or embarking on a solo road trip across the American Southwest.
Every project she takes on is infused with heart, soul, and an unparalleled commitment.
Casting & Versatility
Deidre is known for her chameleon-like, expansive range.
Picture her as the intelligent and resilient Claire Fraser from Outlander (nailing the RP accent), the fierce Beth Dutton from Yellowstone, or the ingénue Dolores from Westworld.
Her characters have been as cunning as Cersei Lannister from Game of Thrones, as sweet as Anne Hathaway’s Andy in The Devil Wears Prada, and as sharp as Jessica Chastain’s Molly in Molly’s Game.
Not just a leading lady, she’s played an unrecognizably demented Conjurer in The White Devil and delivered comedic gold in clown performances.
Her classical training adds yet another layer of depth, with moving portrayals of Lady Anne in Richard III and Ophelia in Hamlet. Her fiercely bold Kate from The Taming of the Shrew is a force to be reckoned with, while her impeccable comedic timing shines in vaudeville and commedia performances.
Her athleticism—including intense training in swordplay, horseback riding, and kitesurfing—equally equips her for action-packed roles.
Notable Roles
Deidre’s talent has graced both stage and screen.
In London, she portrayed iconic characters like Mark Antony in Julius Caesar and Vittoria in The White Devil, while also performing in various Shakespeare in the Parks. Her screen credits include co-starring in the mainstream Bollywood Marathi film Kanni and the indie hit Through the Ashes, which has garnered over 3.4 million views on YouTube.
After her stage debut in the well-reviewed Brilliant Lies at San Francisco’s Firescape Theatre, she made her mark in Bay Area immersive theater as the vaudeville ingénue Viola in The Speakeasy SF, delivering a showstopping rendition of Gracie Allen’s "Lambchops."
While she's manifesting a powerful Lady Macbeth and an endearing Maggie (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) on a grand stage, Deidre’s heart belongs to any film or stage character that demands depth, versatility, and truth.
Outside of Acting
Beyond acting, Deidre holds a B.S. in Mathematical Economics and a B.A. in International Relations, was Pre-Law, and has studied Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Arabic internationally.
As a project manager, she has worked in impact investing, philanthropy, and alongside CA Governor Jerry Brown on a gubernatorial trade mission to Mexico City. Throughout these endeavors, she has remained dedicated to her craft, balancing early mornings and late nights on set or on stage.
Currently
Deidre has recently returned to Z/A Studio in LA to further her onstage acting training while expanding her teaching endeavors.
She founded and manages Z/A’s online Shakespeare’s Surgery: Speak the Speech!, an international classical language course in collaboration with acclaimed West End director and Shakespearean expert Stephen Unwin.
As Z/A Studio’s lead vocal coach, she runs daily lessons on vocal technique and performance, and as a LAMDA Exams acting coach, she inspires the next generation of performers while continuing to push the boundaries of her own career.
Deidre is also conducting field research for an upcoming documentary exploring the cultural and community impact of the growing kitesurfing scene on the livelihoods of local fishermen in rural Preá, Brazil.
